What is DMS and what does it do?
DMS stands for “Data Management System”. It is a one stop solution for the overall system diagnosis and health check. Easily installed to any solution with Lead acid batteries it monitors and provides insightful reports to customers on battery health, system performance & user characteristics, which then alerts the customer to take appropriate actions.
Where can I use the DMS?
DMS can be used in any lead acid battery-based system ranging from 12V to 48V. Typical applications are E-Rickshaws, Home UPS, Solar Microgrid systems to name a few.
Can I install the DMS myself?
DMS comes with a connection diagram, video instructions on how to install and retrieve data. Although it is fairly simple to install, recommendation would be to use trained technicians to install DMS.
How is data stored and retrieved in DMS?
Data is stored in a SD card and can be retrieved by accessing the card. Detailed instructions are available along with the DMS and a video instruction is also available if you scan the QR code mentioned on the DMS package. (Add QR code to this question)
Can I know if my batteries are underperforming based on the data?
There are two reports which are provided for every set of data collected. The summary report provides the performance details of the battery system, and the detailed reports provide all relevant plots. By accessing these two reports the performance of the batteries can easily be assessed and action can be taken.
Will the DMS provide reports on the entire system performance?
Yes! DMS report contains analysis and summary of all aspects of a system. Ex: In an E-Rickshaw system, the DMS provides summary on Charger, Motor & Controller, Battery and User characteristics.
Why is DMS known as BMS for lead acid batteries?
DMS is first of its kind Battery Monitoring System (BMS) for lead acid batteries. DMS assists the dealers, OEMS to monitor the performance of their batteries and use this data to make warranty decisions, replacements etc.
Who are the key customers for DMS?
DMS is primarily used by Battery Dealers, Battery Manufacturers, OEMs, System Integrators and in some cases even the End Users.
Can I access the data and reports over cloud website?
V1.0 DMS supports offline data collection. Future releases will support cloud access to reports and data.
