What are the challenges with the existing solutions?
All of these chargers Overcharge the battery bank, which leads to gas evolution, heating and batter degradation. Which in turn affects the performance of the battery.
What has Mesha done to overcome these issues?
Mesha’s Charging profiles are unique for a variety of reasons. The charging profile has been designed to ensure that the battery charges completely, yet not overcharge/overheat and damage in anyway. The batteries are always managed in the safe zone!
What is quick charging?
Quick charging is the ability to charge the battery at C/3 or higher. For example, a 130Ah power battery can be charged at 30A or higher.
Are 25A charging solutions available?
Mesha’s Charging profile supports all charging variants. Starting with 15A, 18A, 20A and it goes as high as 25A. 20A and above can only be used with PowerBatteries as the regular batteries are not compatible with quick chargers.
Are the connectors compatible with my E Rickshaw?
All chargers are compatible with existing E-Rickshaw vehicles. No change is required to use the chargers or the charging stations.
Are there public quick charging stations for my Rickshaw?
Yes absolutely! Charging stations will be available soon in your neighborhood. These quick charging stations will charge your batteries at 30A. 0-80% within 3 Hours! These charging stations are compatiblee with E-Rickshaws equipped with PowerBatteries.
What is a Safe Zone?
Safe zone is the optimal voltage zone where the batteries are not overcharged. The batteries will be fully charged using Mesha’s charging profile without harming the batteries. Typically, if the batteries goes over 15V, it overcharges and will damage the batteries.
Can I use quick chargers with regular batteries?
While the quick chargers can charge regular batteries, it is not advisable to use them as they do not contain Mesha’s META technology to accept fast charging and deliver performance.
What is opportunity charging?
Opportunity charging, allows you to charge for 15min, 30mins, 1 Hour etc. during the day. This gives you more range and hence more income on a daily basis.
How can I utilize quick chargers to gain more income?
Use quick chargers to charge your rickshaw with PowerBatteries every time you stop for a break, lunch, chai break. This gives additional mileage and hence more income. We call it as the Batteries being operated in the performance zone!
What is a performance zone?
Your batteries operates in their most optimal zone when they are within 45 to 60V. The vehicle runs faster, less energy is consumed for every km travelled in this zone. This zone is called the performance zone. Opportunity charging can help keep the batteries within these performance zones and ensure that the battery does not underperform.
